Are your wheels looking old? Curbed? Scuffed? Scratched? Corroded? or just fancy a colour change?

To do these process’ companies are charging upwards of £60 a wheel depending on type and size.

Basically here’s the process:

· Remove tyres where required
· Remove previous balancing weights
· Alloys are chemical strip soaked to remove majority of old paint/laquers etc
· Wheels are bathed in hot cleaner
· Wheels are jet washed to remove all residue
· Then wheels are bead blasted to remove remaining coatings and to give paint a good key and even finish
· Kerb damage and scuffs are then taken out using hand polishing or a lathe
· If power coat option is taken the wheels are then powder coated
· Laquer which is optional for powder coating, which is then applied and baked on
· Tyres are then re-fitted if required
· Wheels then balanced if required
· Tyres are filled with air ready to roll

· For automotive paint finish’s the wheels are treated with etch primer
· Then sprayed with high quality paint via compressor with multiple coats
· Wheels are then laquer baked
· Tyres are then re-fitted if required
· Wheels then balanced if required
· Tyres are filled with air ready to roll

· For split rims the wheels are taken fully apart

· The nuts/bolts sent for chemical strip and nickel plate

· The barrels are then stripped/soaked/washed/blasted and damage removed as above

· The barrels can either go the power coat or automotive spray route

· They are then laquer baked

· The lips are then taken through various grits till a good finish is achieved

· The lips then get mirror compound polished

I will not repair/alloy weld structural damage and/or straighten buckled wheels

i will always do my best with this in terms of quality and price.

the prices are a rough guide, i obviously dont want to loose money on them, am not in it for huge profits i have a good job and i kind of like seeing the wheels when there done.

keep your eyes on this for some before and after pics.

sure i could sort you a little cheaper berry! been as you've done me fair few favours in the past.

i have to pay a guy to take tyres off/on
to balance wheels
a guy to blast them or pay a little to use his blaster depending
a family friends firm to powder coat
families firm to nickel plate bolts
i pay for all polishing discs/compound/grit wheels/paper/fuel costs/laquer/paint/gas to heat wheels/stripping chemical

it all adds up, so once i've done a few more sets i will have a definate idea of costs, it could go up or down slightly, the above is just a guide per set.
