Possible membership pack!

Hello there,

Been thing over past month about doing a membership pack for DIY!

Benefits are for being payed for to be online, stuff being bought for the forum ie banners and stickers etc, some sort of discounts on shows and parts and stuff. And being a DIY premium member!!

What does people think?

Im on it, think if everyone chipped a fiver then we can decide what its spent on, mainly keeping forum online, then maybe a banner or summat for shows etc

if you do decide to do a membership package , ill support it by doing club discount like discussed before on stickers and if you decide to want a banner ill be able to source the banner vinyl and banner ,

although , i doubt people will pay for a membership because no offence but the forum is no way big enough yet !
Club 306 , Club polo , Golf owners club ect all charge for membership but they can because they are massive and have thousands of members ,

and other thing is we are all mates so people rather than using forum will just use facebook or ring each other ! thats my honest opinion anyway

actually i dont know if this will work, i like the idea of putting funds to gether (all chipping in for a banner etc) but club membership?

like matt says, clubs with over a thousand members can oftem generate an income by creating a recodnised club that gets discount through insurance groups (and that sort of thing) maybe we should look at as a group all 'chipping in' to get a banner and flag etc etc,

maybe even fund raising car wash, that sort of thing, could even look into helping at chrity events, i could get us a club stand at the stannington carnival (for example) and we could raise the club profile to a level that would be seen as aprochable by all ages, not just a group of go happy grease monkeys (and i love you all, lol)

does that make any sense?


maybe if we had a fund thread that said, say a banner is $80, we could have a running total that kept people up to date and donations etc could be forwardad to a secutary etc, we could even open up a bank acount for the forum as an open saver, but we would need at least tweo garenters, (people how could sign/ issue checks) and we would allso need comitee meetings once a month to keep the ball rolling and keep and eye on things, this is all possible, but at the minuete id say lets keep things goin as is, but to get stickers hoodys etc ready when needed (matts your man) and any other discounts etc could be listed propperly, we all ready get a fantastic discount at marsh auto parts and gav does awsome deals on race parts, plus any maintenance work/ problem solving/ recovery work , between us there isnt anything we cant do,

thats my thoughts any way

I think if we all put to for banners flags etc that would be enough,
we had a few ideas, me mrs priestly & dani to put to everyone at a meet..

realy we need a big meet to descide where ppl want the forum to go (if that makes any sense?) thing is its to damn cold to do much atm

I want this forum to go in the direction of its a quirky forum for the little guys. Not one like lowdown where it has loads of members but only half of them use it. I love how this and our facebook page are just kinda ours. Its like our own little club. the underdog. Gives it charm.

under dog, i like that, ha ha, yeah were sort of a stealth club i supose, more like a family then your average forum lol
