PostSubject: PuntoGT project    Sun May 13, 2012 10:05 pm

Right just Want to say thank you for the welcome everyone

this is my working project puntoGT
This is 1 out of 312 left on british roads
I found this out on a website called howmanyleft.com

I got the car off eBay and it was feeling very sorry for its self

I won the car for £361

The little beast was in bad shape the slave cylinder had a very bed leak
The release bearing in the gear box was snapped in half the cluch was dead
The shell was covered in damage and the floor was rusted to hell

I got the car back to my work and started work straight away

I got the car ready for a full respray back to the stranded color but with abut if a difference lol

I ended up puting some silver paint into the lachura to make it more matalic

I did ll the repairs and got all the welding done that cost me £170
And replaced the slave cylinder and releace bearing and put a new cluch in the car
I was running 0.8 boost and the car was pritty standard
I sticker bombed the petrol cap aswell

After the paint job an welding and replacing the parts I needed it passed the MOT honest Wink
And got taxed and insured
And now it's gone through a few different changes lol with a new front mount intercooler
New air filter all the Interier stripped out
And a few other bits and bobs

Added an apexi turbo timer aswell

The splitter is off a honda crx del sol and i cut it to fit and smoothed the front bumper as well

Bear in mind the bumper is not finished yet there still is some filling to do and I have also changed the front mount intercooler

decent effort this thing, didnt know there was so little of them left, i had the mk2 HGT version, it was a 1.8 and was very quick, unfortunately and this was a car with 1 owner from new, 18k on the clock and ffsh it ate 3 gearbox's, a clutch, exhaust, tyres, brakes, electrical issue and engine valve timing in a year and 12k miles.......i was not very happy!!! lucky enough half of it came under warranty but just got pissed of with it, brilliant cars when they work though, good handling. not sure about the mk1's for reliablity etc. keep going bud its come along way from what surely would have been a scrapper.
