| i once had 9 people in the escort cab with the roof down.....i was pretty crazy at times man, i think i had 4 cars at one bit. that golf was sick!!!! smashed GSI's and the like, sure it was tweaked inside. i sold it fletch, he left it on a farm for 3 years.......it fired 2nd time. wtf. thats an engine, you dropped it in that stripped golf and it flew | |

| yep, the verry same, it was ballistic, went super light weight with that mk2, and stuck some tiny 13'' deep dish rims on it, went like a bludy rocket, must admit i do miss it, its in cornwall atm, kid i sold it to still has it, with that very engine still in it running strong, goes on track days and everything lol | |

| what the same lump? really though i gave that motor hell it suprised GTI's and was only the carb model although a weber, i reckon the carbs had been bored or it had cams or something because there was no way it was standard, you battered it and now doing track days!!! i reckon thats got about 160k of hard miles on it now then!! standard for a beemer, lol. but alot for an old carburettor VW.
a mate from another forum got m3 evo my shape with 297k miles onnit and its only 12 BHP down on factory figures standard engine..........sniff up BMW quality mate, lol. get that E36 pal. | |

| Yeah, it was the same lump, I don't know why but that engine was sumet special, I never worked out what it had, bludy quick though, I do miss it | |
