| aye man the differance is insane! A REAL DIY INSTALL! TDI boost guage install, took the interocooler pipework of to tap into the top hose near the EGR delete, to get the take off barb in we had to go all diy up in here! Drilled a hole in the hose, threaded string thru it, threaded the take off bard onto the string then tied a nut on the end, then just pull the string back thru the hole: If anyone has put a boost guage in a TDI they will know they buzz like a bitch and rattle everywhere! You need to slow the flow down to cure this! read on the internet that an inline fuel filter would do it, that didnt work, so me and ryan got all diy up in here, cutting the head off a wood screw and making a notch in the top so it can still be turned with a screwdriver! put that inside the silicone pipe and it slows the flow! one worked well, so we put another in and it stopped 90% of the buzzing. then we moved on to modify the cubby hole to fit the gauge........in doing this i droped the gauge and smashed it! what a bellend! so iv orderd another one! lol! hopefully i wont smash this one! When the gauge was running, it was spiking at 2 bar and holding around 1.7! | |
