NURBURGRING 2013

well after an amazing trip to the ring this year, shits gotta happen again.

thinking june time next year, 3 nights, go karting race at schummacers karting school, will have a tour of the nurburgring back stage pass'
around 2 days of laps of the famous nordschliefe

i have full breakdown of prices, what to expect, where to stay etc.

doesnt matter if you have a 1.2 3 pot or 6.2 V8 if you like cars, beer and driving it really is the shit.

well aslong as we aim for good weather, so may to august, i have to wait till nurburgring releases dates when tourist farhten days are on, (where you can pay to drive round). with that info we can start suggesting dates and see what suits people best.

cost wise i will start ploughing through the breakdown of everything on here.

car tom? well you change your motors more than me........buy you something you like, tune it, maintain it, don't stack it. you'll have something sweet berry

Could be a good laugh if justys up to where i want it by then!! Dont know about keeping up with you tho shrek, it would be difficult at best of times lol

ha ha, well if i end up usinf the astra itll be ok on the straights but i rekon you'd catch up on the corners mate

that really is testing 13miles with only 1 actual proper straight, very twisty, lots of cambered sections. even if your motor hasnt got outright power if its set up well and responsive in the bends you will really enjoy it.

plus after the long drive to germany we stop at the schummacer go karting track, full timed qualifing, proffesional karts in top shape for a fair race.

and of course we will be hitting the famous autobahn........yes derestricted i managed a nice 147mph.

rest of the journey i must state has to be done at or around the speed limit especially in belgium they can and will take your car for speeding excessivley

also the roads around the nurburg are really something else, like driving on bradfield tops but with prestine tarmac and more inclines... but racing outside of nurburg is highly frowned on so save it for the track eh.

no ladies and gentleman i really enjoyed this trip, i went with the uk's biggest organiser with who i am friends with on the bmw forums, now i paid alot and i mean alot of money but it was definatley worth it.......downside was he made money out of the trip.

am doing this at cost, infact am quite good at haggling discounts which i already have in writing.

glad to have another person onboard......the more that comes the more fun, the cheaper and god forbid a breakdown the more mechanical support between the group.

AFTER COMING BACK FROM 3 DAYS AT THE NURBURGRING I CAN SAFELY SAY IT REALLY IS AMAZE BALLS, i went with an organized tour and cost alot more than i could have gone for..........so ive took all the details of the places we went and stayed, prices etc.
based on 2 ppl sharing 1 car with a consumption average of 35mpg, including 3 nights accomodation, euro tunnel return, 4 laps of the ring, ADAC european breakdown cover, personnel travel insurance, hi viz jackets, warning triangle, headlamp deflectors, GB sticker, a qualifying and race session at michauel schummacher go karting centre, tour of the nurburgring behind the scenes and food for the trip!!!

I RECKON ALL THAT WOULD COST £500-600 EACH.

... thats pretty good, the hotel is a 5minute drive, its 1200 miles total (plus laps) 10 hours there and 10 back. depending on the car youve got and the amount sharing it will vary. laps are extra and very addictive. if you like cars/driving or just want to life the hype you will love it.

IF YOUR INTERESTED LET ME KNOW, ITS EARLY DAYS AND THIS WOULD BE AROUND SAME TIME NEXT YEAR. WITH AN IDEA OF PERSONS I CAN ARRANGE DISCOUNTS ETC.

PRICE UPDATE/BREAKDOWN: go karting @ michael schumaker go karting centre is approx £60 for the hour per person, including practice/qualifying and timed race. this is subject to 10+ people attending

PRICE UPDATE/BREAKDOWN: it is a legal requirement when driving in most E.U countries to carry an emergency breakdown kit/country sticker/headlamp deflector beams. £30 gets you all these. you would also need a spare bulb kit. halfords do these also but are obviously vehicle specific and cost approx £10.

PRICE UPDATE/BREAKDOWN: best way to cross to france and back is this fastest way, expect to board on a friday morning at around 6.00am and return on a monday afternoon at around 4.00pm. best price for this is approx £99 per car.

PRICE UPDATE/BREAKDOWN: the hotel we stayed at last was 2min drive from the track, clean, tidy with plenty of beers. for 3 nights with Breakfast (proviso that minimum of 10 people go) looking at approx £35 pp per night. depending on sleeping arrangements this could go up or down slightly.

if anyone doesnt want to "lets say abuse there car" round the ring, then simply rent one and aslong as you dont crash it its all good.

right guys get your maths head on........nah just kidding i've done that for you ........ based on 2 sharing 1 car. based on my car....
to get the most out of trip i advise we stay at a cheap hotel near the tunnel.
accomodation near tunnel: 30/per night per room. 2 people to share.
accomodation near tunnel: 15

accomodation at nurburg: 35/per night per person x 3 nights.
accomodation at nurburg= 105 per person

eurotunnel crossing: 99/per car so split between 2 people
eurotunnel crossing: 50 per person

safety pack (hi viz etc): 40/per car so between 2 people
safety pack (hi viz etc): 20 per person

schummacher go karting: 60 per person including qualify/race.

food/drink/beer : hard to judge but lets say 30 per day per person
food/drink/beer : 120

nurburg backstage tour: 15

ok the big one.....fuel, heres how i worked mine out and this does not include laps of the ring.

1200miles, 1200 divide by my 35mpg average is 34.2 gallons, 4.5 litres in a gallon so 34.2 x 4.5 is 153.9 litres.

going rate say 1.30 for petrol so x that by 153.9 gives you

200 per car so half is

£100

the grand total of all this is £485.

obviously depending on the amount sharing cars, how many laps of the ring you do, how greedy/thirsty you are etc. but thats my budget cost.

expensive i know it may seem but your getting 4 nights of hotels, 4 days of food and drink, 3 days at a race track, a qualifying session and race at a top go karting centre, backstage nurburg tour and doing 1200miles through england, france, belgium and germany........ it aint that bad.

i paid £495 for the trip when i went plus fuel/food/drink/safety pack/hotel near tunnel so all in spent roughly

£800! and i still thought it was worth every penny.

i know its a massive post but just want to give you guys a breakdown of costs and rough guide to how much you need.

pls note ring laps are roughly £20/per lap but if bought in bulk cheaper.

Nice work mate, what time scale are you looking at, when you thinking of booking and going?

roughly next may/june probably. this is why i have started this group so people can bounce dates around. thing is the nurburgring doesnt release official days for touristen fahrten (anyone days) until early next year. so if everyone can say yes am free from this date till that, or this too this i can go round and see what dates suit the rest. major head bake but hopefully no-one will miss out.

then say we have a date we are happy with i will then check the nurburgring dates when released and make sure we get atleast 2 days track time and then i can start booking the other bits around that. going to be a nightmare like but with time on our hands then less chance of fek ups and/or people not having money/car ready etc.

if i can start taking payment say jan/feb it allows people to pay it off slowly if you understand.......i would set up a seperate account with the bank and display all the details on here of transactions in/out. basically you all know am not blowing your doh down the casino.lol. and that payments are being made etc and we can see it progress.

just trying to be as organised and fair as poss. i gain nothing from it except a large headache but loads of like minded people to go with. plus am a top lad like that! haha.

early doors yet loads could change, but the ideas there, they are people interested i have done my dealings and got my facts, lets make it happen
