Thought James's 7 Series deserved some praise for being such a beast!
Also for being the bargain of the bloody century and also for getting us back over 200 miles without missing a beat pulling to 120 and beyond with no signs of slowing up (autobox only changed up at 100 into top!) and for using less than half a tank of fuel and averaging 30MPG! What a V8 BEAST!

right well i saw a facelift 99 728i with most extra's in nice blue colour,
18's m-sport wheels, extended white leather and other sport bits
seller let me down and i put a stupid bid on an earlier car.

here's the spec:

1997 735i V8 saloon
oxford green mettalic
full leather interior
6 disc changer
steering wheels stereo controls
cruise control
PDC
soft close auto boot
soft close glovebox
electric windows
electric mirrors
electric drivers and passengers memory seats with lumbar support
electric headrest option
RCL
remote windows/sunroof down
bmw immobiliser
headlight washers
steptronic auto box so has triptronic sports mode
A/C
dual climate control

it has loads of other shit on it aswell.

clocks show 24k but i cant believe that although the mileage is rising and there so hard to clock? will check with VOSA on this.

car has 10 months test and 0 tax

good points:

smooth as fuck
decent bodywork
good interior
suspension/bush's fine
all lights work
its a V8 and sounds sweet
electic everything
whisper quite
got it cheap

bad points:

oil pressure switch seems faulty
cigarette lighters dont work
OSR window doesnt work
bog standard wheels!!!
slight misfire on idle
drivers side heater stuck on hot

whats to do:

full valet of epic size and proportion
full service all fluids/filters/plugs
possibly valve cover gasket as i suspect minor oil in 1 well causing slight misfire
oil pressure switch causing the light to be on, plenty of oil at top end, think this is why it was cheap
tighten handbrake
CD changer needs a magazine
clean/new heater valve on drivers side
sort the ciggy lighters
sort the rear window

the price was right for this, its not the motor i wanted but i reckon as berry said........19/20's on a 60mm drop with tints, some facelift rear lights and clear indys/side reapeators and sheffield has a new mafia V8 ride.

first off though..........valet and a service.

cheers guy for your help, seems a right bargain.

oh some figures for you too:

3.5 litre V8 DOHC 32V aluminium block
240 BHP @ 5700 RPM
320 NM @ 3300 RPM
top speed 155 MPH
0-60 7.6 secs

ok its not that quick but it does weigh more than newcastle and is smoother than polished marble

still keeping the 3 series for FUN times.

will start a build thread once ye old tanks been cleaned properly
