PostSubject: stupid astra   stupid astra EmptySat Apr 21, 2012 8:00 am

well been as we are trying to get the biggest spec lists i thought id better make one for the astra Very Happy

right then its a 1.6 standard astra........ officer.........

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

spec (atm but gonna get bigger)
cavalier sri 130 8 v engine (seh) 130bhp standard, aiming for 240bhp, around 270bhp with nos bounce

engine -
mauhle racing pistons (forged)
let piston rings
arp bolts
metalhead gaskit kit
hardend head bolt kit
new crank bearings
uprated oil pump (to feed turbo aswell as head)
kent cams high lift cam
hydraulic followers with uprated springs to aid compression
uprated fuel injection rack
bosch red injectors(fromsaab turbo- biggest you can get same as cosworth reds)
oil catch tank and modified breather setup
fixed rate adjustable fuel pressure regulator
t3 turbo
front mount intercooler from colt turbo (not big enough need a bigger one)
2lter radiator
slim line racing fan,
modified water colant system, high flow thermostate
black diamond racing padel clutch
f18 d gearbox (close ratio 1-4 massive 5th gear with high torque bearings)
gsi drive safts and 'big' hubs
gsi brakes with red dot racing disks
omp front strutbrace
various chrome bosst pipes
various silicone pipes,
inside its got hks turbo timmer
air to fuel ratio gauge
boost gauge
vacume gauge
oil pressure gauge
suspension is lowwered 80mm all round but i think it needs more and up rated shocks,

parts ive got sat in the garage that need fitting,
front mount oil cooler (13 core mocal jobie)
scooby wrx bucket seats
small steering wheel
rear strutbrace
twin piston dump valve (thanks call)

parts i need to get
polybush (trak down a supplier - these are getting hard to find now)
nos (from tank- i oh you big time)
MASSIVE front mount intercooler (if ive got half a chence of beeting callum)
BIGGER turbo (if i win the sodding lottery, theres so damn expensive)
more boost pipe to fit new intercooler (i think callum micht be able to help out here as long as joss hasnt nicked it all, little sod lol )
plastic for window conversion

jobs i need to do,
finish exhaust system
bleed brakes with big caliper conversion
completly strip the interior, if ive got anychance of making this thing shift then i have to get the weight down (that allso means i'm going on a diet for pod Sad lol)
if any of you now me and my past cars, when i strip it imean i realy strip it, i need to get hold of some poly carb to make my own light weight windows, normal glass is to heavy
make the sodding dump valve work properly Wink

thats about it atm, but plans always change, there aint no point with photos atm, just look at any other astra 4 door mk3 and your about there the wholepoint of it is to be a major sleeper, nothing on the outside makes this car look like a scooby killer, thats the whole point cheers

alien comments welcome

could do with some 14'' wheels as well, smaller wheels = faster acceleration alien

quik update, new intercooler should be here friday and new turbo mid june but i could do with a mega squirt ecu,

seats nearly in and new parts that have arived-
-giant oil cooler
-magnecore leads
-25mm silicone hosing for iav

my restrictions will now be the inlet manifold and exhaust manifold, need to save up for a new tubular manifold and custom inlet.

but i might have to rob a bank before i can get them,
at a geuss the power with the gear ive got is around 250, but if i get mega squirt, turbo and fir the injectors (cutesy of jared) should bw looking around the 300 mark,
but if by some chance i get some cash and fit tubular manifold and a screamer pipe should be able to brake the 330bhp mark, which should put me around a 12.5 quater mile depending on how good i drive and the tyres am running

watch this space, i promise ill put photos up soon alien

think 12.5 is very optemistic, oh well,
right little update, fitted the scooby seats and i realy didnt get on with them so took them straight out and fitted some cobra buckets i picked up for a bargin price,
so seats are in
harness are in
nos tanks in and all wired up bt i cant fit the jet ntil i get the new pipe work for the intercooler.
oil coolers riged up but again i cant fit it until the new coolers in situ,
new springs fitted all round to stiffen up the schassi a bit,
whilst the wheels were of gave them a little re-furb and cleaned up the legs and brakes,
changed the front drivers drive shaft as the original i fitted was from an early calibre and was actually 1/2 inch longer than a gsi one, making it a bugger to fit and putiing un wanted pressure on the box and engine, any way i piccked one up from a gsi that was fitted with a v6 so i know itll cope with the power i want to put on it,
piped up the iav (thanks tank and rob) using a diy t piece,
and fitted the hks dump valve (twin piston jobie) hopfully this one will work but hasnt't been properly tested yet
thats about it atm,

when i get some more cash ill finally get them intercooler and pipe work so i can make some more progress alien

little update, new intercoolers fitted, finaly picked up fse rissing rate feul reg from jareds woo hoo lol,
started chopping bumper up to try and fit around the intercooler, got all pipe work fitted for the cooler but could do with some more high pressure clips because ive ran out Crying or Very sad
picked up some more parts, oil temp and pressure sender units, water temp sender unit, just got to fit it all now, need to track down an exhaust, or stop being a tight git and buy a hoffman race tube,
could do with some poly bushes as well, any one know where i could get some, not having much joy,
allso any one going to race spec any time soon? could do with a few more bits picking up lol

Tbf, not that much has changed, only the interiors missing, rear Windows are black and so are the wheels, ride heights lowered and there's a back box hiding away under the back bumper, :-)

right, this has got stupid now, just fitted and ran in a new turbo, t3/4hybrid Very Happy but still not happy, think i need to fit the 550cc injectors and start running some BIG boost with nos and see what i can push her to, its got to be quick bounce cant afford this to be slow, Big Calls set the challenge clown clown clown clown clown ha ha, might blow the astra up trying affraid but what the hell, you only live once, and if she (astra) wants to be used on the german ring road then i supose she needsa to be tested within inches of its life alien
