So then it begins (well it has to somewhere i guess)
as some people may know my Swift GTi that I briefly enjoyed died, but in her ashes has been born a new idea
the idea being im going to try and take a Subaru Justy AWD (basically a Suzuki Swift with Subaru's twist of AWD) and match it with a GTi swift engine sounds fun and not too dificult so i thought id give it a go, were in the early stages of the process but hopefully we might get somewhere with it
So far im in the process of gutting the GTi for any useful bitys for the conversion. sounnds really boring i know but were on a small budget and need all the bits i can scavenge either to mod or sell to get more bits
so the interior is nearly there now there is nothing left other than the bare bones and knackerd carpets that im donating to the scrapman or eBay whichever comes first and im already running out of room in the garage, i didnt know there was that much stuff in such a small car
so il try and get this plan into action as fast as money and time allows, the first job ive got is trying to get a 3dr justy for a resonable price, cant be that hard can it???!.
when i get a shell il try and do a update with pics before i tear into it
so please wish me luck and i will see you later people its going to be a long few months
IT HAS BEGUN!!!!!!
THE MOTOR
THE ENGINE BEFORE I PLAYED
THE ENGINE AFTER A GOOD BIT OF CARE new cambelt, clean, paint and a bit of tlc
ARCHES CLEAN need shutz now like a two day job:roll:
GTI PUMP VS STANDARD
Hopefully it wont take to long with all the bits ive got, just hope ive thought of everyting!!! its going to be the little niggle jobs that take the longest, arches, bits of welding for example now i warn you all it aint going to be pretty from here on in, i aint building a show car this is just something im determined to do with the knowledge ive got lots of paint and time so it could be very rough looking
just hope i can live up to the badge ive given the shell
il try and get a update on here again when ive done more, im trying to get the shell right before i pull it to bits and swap the blocks, this is going to be fun!!!
bit of an update been doing loads on the car recently, too many little jobs that matter to put up here tho so heres a bit of a sumary
out everything comes time to get really confused with two looms to mess with swapping plugs, tracing wires etc etc
the floor and cavities gets a few coats of chassis enamel (mite go no carpet )
front gti springs, koni dampers, gti disks that still need machining and my braided lines
the cage in 'look at me' red
the cage in ' you dont know shit about this motor' black
so thats it for now, got loads more done that i aint took pics of but wouldnt want to go on too much more anyway
engine and everything should be out soo now ive borrowed an crane (cheers jared )
hopefully she should be all done in the next few months
WELL JARED YOU WERE RIGHT ABOUT COPY AND PASTEING THE BUILD FROM POCKETS, COULD HAVE BEEN A BORING DAY OTHERWISE

right then another update, warn you now things havent really changed much
anyone know a meerkat, im confused.com
wheels on
purple wires!! got some left if anyone needs some
the only real givaway that shes modified
painting inside bonnet (dont worry im not leaving it like that )
gearbox all painted ready to go back on
new lightend justy flywheel ready to go on, still heavier than the gti by 3kg but should be ok i hope
new black diamond kevlar clutch
at least everything bolts together, clutch alignment is easy when youve got the right tool, only japs would make the gearbox driveshaft fit a bearing in the the flywheel
gearbox fits
other side
my drivers seat view
seat is in with my halfords bargin harness
backend view with the pig-to-fit rear brace
and thats it for now, just gotta fit engine back in, connect it up, make a exhaust, get the wiring to work, clean and paint wheels, put a sunstrip in, front strut brace, get engine running, bleed the brakes, possibly put rear disks on if i can get the hubs off, tax it, insure it, get a v5!! so not that much really
just been told by a lad thats built one of these that they aint that quick which is what i kinda thawt, just hope there quicker than standard justy, otherwise im gunna be a bit embarrased at USC, only time will tell i guess that just means that once its built its another challenge for me to make it quick, im sure with some minor adjustments ahhem NOS+TURBO+CAMS=
and some help from people around ie please mr shrek make my car quick see you all around when im free, you know where i am if you want help or wanna help me

well everyone else seems to be doing a speclist so thought id better do one too so then
Subaru Justy 67bhp HONESTLY OFFICER LOOK ITS A G13B ENGINE JUST LIKE THE LOGBOOK SAYS
Weve got: Suzuki Swift GTI 101BHP(hopefully) engine with new timing belt Black Diamond kevlar competition clutch+cover Subaru Justy 20% lightend circa 8kg flywheel Janspeed 4-1 manifold fibreglass wrapped Suzuki Swift GTI front brakes Suzuki Swift GTI radiator Full Suzuki Swift GTI loom swap Suzuki Swift GTI dashboard Suzuki Swift GTI fuel pump OMP 6-point cage sprayed matt black (stealthy as fuck) Some patch welding Rust treatment throughout and Waxoyled everywhere Black chassis enamel painted floors, pillars etc Sparco 3-point black harness Collins fibreglass bucket seat also matt black Rear battery Subaru justy power steering OMP strutbraces Koni adjustable dampers Stainless braided front brake hoses Suzuki Swift GTI brake vacuum servo Comma Dot 5.1 racing brake fluid Lots of painted bits Custom headlight wiring (dodgey wire somewhere i cant trace) Uprated headlights Shortend gear lever Extremely stripped out (no carpets, seatbelts, rear wiper, interior panels except door card and roof liner) FK automotive semi-dish 300mm wheel and Subaru Justy boss kit Customised indicator and wiper stalks Suzuki Swift GTI clocks Custom door handles Aluminum window cranks Two battery cut-offs with fire extingusher over-ride (fire gear to go in later) Various ignition barrels and anti-theft wiring plenty of stickers covering fuck-ups and unavoidable mess
COMING SOON hopefully Oil sandwich plate (for either turbo feed or oil pressure gauge) Good quality AF gauge to monitor engine unlike the other GTI Turbo upgrade depending on research and cost 25-75bhp NOS Custom piped-in fire extingusher Suzuki Swift GTI rear disks Welded viscous coupling Decent exhaust once its on the road Some sort of lamps or spotlights Some gloss mirrors unlike the crap ABS ones ive got
Thats about it for now, ive got so many silly ideas in my head but most loose the stealth factor

Battery in back Engine fitting Thanks andy it would have been allot harder without you
Engine in, with some persuasion and moifying of power steering pot
Cleaner wheels
Cold Air Intake (stealthy )
pipe to avoid engine mount
Dodgey but sound welding
New plates
Dry fitting flexi and pipe making an exhaust yourself, quite impressed concidering my un-co-operative welder
old exhaust vs new one
new cage foam to stop me killing mysen when i roll her with weird but brilliant 'flat' tiewraps

today progress
some relfective tape everywhere for when she breaks down, so we dont get hit lol
in the process of starting it up the other day i annoyingly found that all the 'gas tight' joints id used wernt so good, none of my weldin leaked though , but thats all fixed now after a bit of heavy welding and some firegum
other two wheels are also all painted up and laquered like the back ones now
only got a few odjobs to do til its ready now, speakers mounts out of lexan polycarbonate (yes my speaker mounts need to be bullet-proof ) then i can get on with bedding the clutch and flywheel in and some testing of everything that i might have broken or wired up wrong allong the way, fingers crossed there isnt much more to do
gonna be great going to pod (hopefully) it should look mint rolling around with andy in his justy too, just wish they were same colour that would have been cool

Both seats are in allong with harnesses all be them not matching, but always said it wouldnt be pretty
Everything in the back ready for the road
Everything in the front ready for the road
All done (mostly anyway)
Under the belly (lots of paint!!)
Justy at pre-pod meet looking mint
Still lots to do like, exhaust (waiting on parts) Brake master cyclinder leak (waiting for parts again) Vacuum servo (parts again) Vacuum leak, annoying as fuck athough its running well atm Lowering (ordered springs in time for pod, now due 15th aug =( ) Engine damper (just need time and some metal bits) Filler neck (my ones putting rust into the tank) then around a thousand other little jobs to do as always, paint this new bolt there and here, it never ends!!!
once it is finished though i really dont know what il do with my time

i like it for 2 things, the 4wd and weight and the fact that who's done this before? its rare you even see a justy or swift in a week nevermind 2 at once on same day
